Project Information: The Sandy Pines Campground Convenience Center projects were a first of their kind. The campground summer population and limited options for storm shelter revealed the concern for safety. In a joint effort and though collective grant applications Sandy Pines obtained both local municipal funding and a federal FEMA grant to provide funding assistance for a campground bath and vending center built to FEMA P-361 Tornado Shelter standards.
