Wahlfield Dog Park
Project: Wahlfield Dog Park
Location: Comstock Park, MI
Square Footage: 435,600 (10 acres)
Project Information: Our team completed construction of a fully enclosed 10-acre recreational facility designed to provide year-round amenities for dogs and their owners. The project required extensive site development, infrastructure installation, and coordination of multiple civil and vertical construction elements to transform the site into a premier community destination.
Site preparation included the excavation and relocation of approximately 32,000 cubic yards of earth to establish final grades, construct the pond, and accommodate the park's amenities. Civil improvements included the installation of approximately 4,000 linear feet (¾ mile) of crushed stone walking trails through the site's natural areas and 1,200 linear feet (¼ mile) of concrete sidewalk, creating an accessible circulation network throughout the park.
The project also included construction of a 1 acre swimming pond featuring a dog beach and jumping dock, as well as installation of a 24-foot diameter shade structure to enhance visitor comfort. Additional improvements included perimeter fencing for the fully enclosed facility, and development of multiple activity areas including a dedicated 1-acre small dog enclosure and 2-acre open activity field.
Successfully coordinating extensive earthwork, site utilities, concrete, structures, and specialty park amenities, the project showcases our ability to deliver complex municipal park developments from initial site preparation through final completion. The finished facility provides the community with a durable, high-quality recreational asset while demonstrating our expertise in large-scale site development and public infrastructure construction.
